Extended Workforce Influencer Forum: Mythbusting in Pursuit of Value

This past August, we found ourselves taking on the topic of challenging 3 common, harmful misperceptions about the extended workforce. As usual, Flextrack Head of Insights and Impact, Jeff Mike, brought together a brilliant selection of panelists to take on mythbusting with.

We came together with Melissa Arronte, Employee Experience Practice Lead at Medallia, and welcomed back Tony Buffum, Vice President of HR Client Strategy at Upwork, to discuss their experiences with the following three outdated beliefs:

  1. Contingent talent and freelancers can’t find a ‘real’ job and are second-rate.

  2. Extended workers like temps and consultants are less engaged and productive than FTE’s.

  3. I can’t include non-employee workers in my DEI, people analytics, and employee engagement practices because it’s too risky.

The recap series below offers a glimpse into these engaging discussions, providing listeners with valuable insights into navigating through myths that could be harmful to extended workforce strategies, as well as provides guidance into how to break through them.
